Why do finance podcasts help?

Podcasts about finances help listeners learn more about financial matters and provide insights to new audiences.

Some finance podcasts are surprisingly unpopular among the public but they provide much support for the few who listen.

Personal finances are an area that can be learned continuously. I'm interested in a podcast whose content helps me on this journey to achieve financial freedom, no matter how many listeners.

Motley Fool Money

Let's start with my personal favorite, the daily 30-minute podcast with host Chris Hill and a team of Motley Fool investment analysts, some of whom are Certified Financial Planners. They cover the day’s top business headlines and financial news while breaking down the stock market implications for long-term investors .

During their informal conversations, listeners also get insights into personal finance concepts and money mindset; together with the ups and downs of the stock market of the week.

Full disclosure - I am a little biased here as I am a Motley Fool Member, but I just love their practical advice on financial topics; I owe a great deal of my financial education to their fantastic analysts.

I check out the fool.com website and listen to their Apple podcasts twice a week. I find the Motley Fool Money podcast more naturally narrated than Planet Money podcasts for example.

Planet Money

Knowing what's happening in the world around you is never negative. Planet Money, NPR's long-running podcast, is here to educate you about the economy.

Planet Money's narrators walk listeners through the ins and outs of numerous economic scenarios, from what happens when you lose your bitcoins to what happens after Brexit, using an easy-to-follow storytelling approach in financial literacy.

Furthermore, these podcast episodes vary in length, roughly 20 minutes long, making it an ideal length for your morning commute.

The Side Hustle Show

Many millennials have side businesses (a.k.a. second jobs). Want to join? Make sure to check The Side Hustle Show podcast. The show, hosted by Nick Loper of Side Hustle Nation, focuses on diverse side hustles and their intricacies.

On a recent episode, for example, Natalie Eckdahl discussed how she earns up to $2,000 each month curating "mastermind groups". Michelle Schroeder-Gardner recently disclosed the secrets of her financial blog, which earns six figures each month.

Finance podcasts can help, and this one inspires you to take control and achieve financial independence retire early (FIRE). Head over to the website for the full back catalog of episodes..

Being Boss

If you're already an entrepreneur or boss, whether through a side hustle or a full-time business, Being Boss episodes are for you. And if you aren't already a boss, run, don't walk!

Hosted by Emily Thompson and Kathleen Shannon, their podcasts help you learn all you need to know about starting your own business. And they would be aware. Both ladies have thriving companies (recording these episodes is a side hustle for them), so you should pay attention when they share their pearls of money advice!

Women are under-represented in finance podcasts, but these two can afford anything. The smart guests' line-up makes this much more than a money podcast. Hundreds of episodes, varying in length, are available through their archives. A must-listen this week!

Death, Sex & Money

Death, Sex & Money is a podcast about "the subjects we think about a lot and need to talk about more", according to presenter Anna Sale. Sale interviews her guests, who vary from ordinary people to superstars, with probing and intimate inquiries about their lives..

This is your chance to learn about other people's money errors and how they corrected them - and, more importantly, to not feel alone on your personal finance path.

Though not every episode is overtly about money topics like budget, there is usually some reference to managing money in the stories. What's the best part? Anna Sale is an excellent presenter who elicits raw, honest facts from each guest in the gentlest ways.

You Need a Budget

You may be familiar with You Need a Budget as budgeting software, but there's also a podcast - and it's a fantastic one. It teaches you all you need to know to get out of debt, budget, save money, and not live paycheck to paycheck. Podcasts episodes such as these give clear money goals.

Naturally, if you're on the path of utilizing a budget to limit your spending and saving, the audio will make more sense, but there are jewels in here for everyone. The YNAB podcast is fantastic since each episode is bite-sized in length and includes testimonials and real-life scenarios.

You'll be treated to vital information or a motivational pep talk in only a few minutes, which will help you keep on track to make smart decisions in life.
